Dr. Yizhi Zhu is a Research and Planning Analyst at the University of Connecticut's Office of Budget, Planning, and Institutional Research (BPIR), brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role. Holding a Ph.D. in Economics, he brings a deep understanding of higher education economics and labor economics to his role. His expertise lies in the development and application of sophisticated quantitative models, which he adeptly employs to analyze extensive national databases and administrative datasets. Through his rigorous analytical approach, Dr. Zhu delves deep into complex data, extracting valuable insights that illuminate the underlying trends and patterns within various contexts. His work empowers decision-makers by providing them with the necessary intelligence and data-driven insights to formulate and implement strategic initiatives.

Sam Post is an Institutional Research Specialist at the University of Connecticut’s Office of Budget, Planning and Institutional Research (BPIR). Graduating from UConn with a Master’s degree in Business Analytics and Program Management, Sam brings experience in a wide range of fields including: product research and development, chemistry, education, data warehousing, and modeling. By combining disparate data sources and research in key content areas, he is able to condense and extract meaning from data held internally or externally. His interdisciplinary approach uncovers critical patterns and trends that inform strategic decision-making. With experience in institutional reporting, Sam delivers concise, and actionable intelligence.
